hello all ,i,ve been joined a while but haven,t posted yet so here goes!
i recently bought a e36 318 tds touring ,fine car but fairly underpowered,i fitted a tunning box to give it a little boost ,made a big improvment but i,ve an annoying flat spot in the power between 1 and 2 thou revs, it just seems to "hang" there for a sec or two ,it doesn,t happen all the time but is still very annoying.it was present before i fitted the tuning box which i guess has nothing to do with it.my mechanic reckons it,s the injector pump ?any folks on here have similar problems ?

mine does the same but did make a slight improvement when i used some fuel addative to clean the injectors

bear in mind though the car has only 90bhp

Tuning box??

You mean a little bax box that tricks the ECU or an airbox (CAI)

Actually, BMW rates it for slightly less, expressed in SAE horsepower. It is only 1.7 liter and uses pre-chamber injection. I know a fellow who dropped an M44 in his E36 touring to give roughly the same horsepower as your old Saturn (and perhaps a higher usable top speed?).
