how can you have i-drive and a stick, it just seems like there would be too much going on for it, unless you are just cruising on the interstate :dunno:

I dig the HUD display in this pic. Puts every other automotive HUD I've seen to shame (if it is at all representative).

If it is capable of mirroring the iDrive display...hmm...

Fack it,

If I had the resources I'd go for an e60 M5. The looks are starting to grow on me, and you can bet your sweet a$$ that the front/rear bumper on the M5 will do the same for the E60 as they do on the E39... Night and day better if you ask...

I agree, the e60 is starting to grow on me too. Throw a set of wheels on there and the look will be much improved.

Now now guys, there is nothing wrong with your E39. I certainly plan on keeping her until the wheels fall off.

But yeah, starting to grow on me too. Damn Bangle Voodoo!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love my e39 and I won't be selling her for a while. It's just that the e60 is not as ugly as I once thought it was.

E60 looks way better than everyone thought. Kind of kicking myself in the rear end for buying a last model year M5.

The car looks good... and it is toned down compared to the E65. Not a whole lot to repel you, visually. Maybe the rear lights. Even, the front ones aren't as shocking after a few view.

I love the way the hood creases integrate into the bumper. The hood seam going above the grill is not a positive move, IMO. It looks like a Saab 9-5... which isn't all together bad.

What BMW has lost in design, it's gained in marketing and photography. Fantastic pictures and great photoshop color choice.

Don't forget technology! Dogshine (Matt from other board - working on getting his a$$ over here), AK, EricS (Staugrahl M3) and I all went to the BMW Ultimate Driving experience/Susan Komen drive in Irvine where we got to drive a 745i, GS430 and an E400. Let me tell you, at several hundred pounds heavier, that E65 bitotchslapped the other two all over the course. Pack all of that active suspension into the new E60, especially an E60 M5, and you've got an extremely potent car.

At first I thought an E60 would be like marrying an ugly chick that is incredible in bed, cooks, cleans, but you kinda want to keep her hidden away... That's changing now... (JFrench would kill me if she read that sexist analogy)

the few pics that were posted before didn't do the car justice.

these pics show the car at many angles which makes it a lot easier to form an opinion.

i like it. reminds me a little of the e65 too. can't wait to see it in person now.

HA!

I posted several times (not here...on flea) that everyone would eventually want the car!

With all the moaning and groaning that went on, I basically said:

"You will want one...I will want one...you will buy one...!" :D

Lots of people said that a car's style shouldn't have to grow on you...that it should just hit you smack in the face the second you saw it. I say that is pure bunk.

There are some cars that are "love at first sight" but not all of them are like that. Some cars need time to grow on you. Sometimes women are like this! :tsk:

Let's hope the moniker of "Angel Eyes" stops with the E60!! I have always HATED that term...there's nothing angelic about those headlights! :yikes:

Well, you know, if you would like to give it to me, I'll help you feel less bad about it. :)

Come on folks this car looks fantastic. Personally I love it and I totally agree with DanB, that this car with M5 aero package will be stunning and definately sinister looking.

Thanks again Alex, great pics. It definitely needs a dark color to raise my interest.
