What did a 97 328I convertible cost new ?

Just curious, bought the wife a 97 328I convertible for her birthday, it has 56000 miles and she originally thought it was new! Its beautiful and glad I get to take care of it and also drive it sometimes. Wondering what they were when new.

I remember seeing something about 99 M3 pricing and it was something around $48K sticker price.
