Guys,,,,

Just wanted to share this with you. A friend of mine kept asking for ages for a drag race... And honestly,, when i saw MB figures for the C280 ,, (0-100 in 7.2 s compared to my 3.0 SI 7.3 or 7.5 s) i was scared to race him!! But that was till yesterday,, when i decided to give it a shot!! And guess what happened??

I conquered him by 6 meters or something till 120 km/h, then he managed to over take me !!! I was truly amazed by the way my car accelerates and handles even on great speeds!! I managed to get 220 km/h very smoothly and felt like 160 km/h

as for the Ram,,, that 5.7 L engine is a complete joke when it comes to drag,,, I know its meant for other stuff as has loads of torque,,, but it couldnt compete with the mighty 3.0 SI on a straight line. However, the Ram is amazing off-road.

one more thing,,, that X-drive thing is amazing too... I am not scared anymore from sharp curves or turns.. it does the job right

Avoid funny looking Subarus with a lot of letters ending in "si" on the back.

220 km/h :yikes:

I used to own a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9L V8. As I recall the 5.9L put out around 230HP. More than enough power. It wasn't all that fast, mostly because it was dangerous or impossible to drive at significant speeds. No weight on the rear. Live axle. Leaf springs. It is a truck.

We used it to pull a 5000lb horse trailer, which it did extremely well.

At the time my wife had a '92 Jetta GL. She could easily outrun me, even though the Ram had an engine 3 times as large as the Jetta.

The speedometer is being optimistic as usual. I believe the speed limiter is set at 210km/h.

The fastest I've ever gone is 190 km/h (in the X3), and unfortunately the road was not very smooth and thus I did not feel it would be prudent to push it even more.

Sport Package will go ~142mph, standard X3's are limited to 130mph.

Egypt must be a fun place. What happens in the desert, stays in the desert? :bigpimp:

LOL.... U should come and drive in the desert some time... However, from what i read,, i dont recommend u go there with a X3!!

Land cruisers are ur way to go!!

And yes,, the catalog said top speed is 210. However, i managed to get 220 easily and i think if the limiter wasnt set to 220,,, it could reach the 230 or 240 easily,,, the X3 really impresses me,,, its even faster than my 2008 C280

Does anybody know the revs in a standard trans X3 at 130 and 142 mph? Isn't the 130 mph electronic limit based primarily on the stock X3 tire ratings?

Not a lot of highways (at least in the US) are smooth enough for 120+ mph in any comfort. The Autobahn is an exception (tho we encountered more rough spots than I had expected).

I know for sure that 210 km/h would be near the redline in 4th gear (AT) in the 2.5 litre. The 2.5 would not have enough power to go any faster in 5th. I reached 190 km/h at around 5250rpm in 4th and it was almost out of breath.

When i was 220 km/h,,, i think the RPM was on the 4.5-5 mark (I am not sure as things are different over 200 km/h) :)
