I have gone through the posts (the good and the not so good) and am aware of the possible transmission issues. I have decided that I do want the car and am about to take the jump to purchase a 2008 x3. I just am wondering if I am getting a fair deal. I checked the invoice cost and seem to be going about 1390.00 over invoice. What do you think? Deal or no deal?

Base price (38,000 MSRP / 34960 Invoice)
Premium package (2,700 MSRP / 2455 Invoice)
Xenon Adaptive headlights (800 MSRP) / 730 Invoice)
Privacy glass (350 MSRP / 320 Invoice)
Destination charge 775
total = 40,125.00
Dealer fees (mirror finish/detailing/inspection/tank of gas) = 499.00 + 6.50 florida battery charge.
total = 40630.50

Invoice = 39420 + 180 + MACO

I don't know what your maco is. it is 300 here in ATL, so lets use that.

Invoice = 39720.00

That puts you right around $1000 over invoice. I consider that a decent price.

Are you leasing?

Thank you for your input. The Maco (advertising?) is not listed on the purchase order. Might be buried within the "dealer fees".
The car is ready to be picked up tomorrow. If all goes well then I will have the X3 to enjoy. I don't think that they will drop the price any lower but it is end of year and end of month, so who knows...oh and I am purchasing not leasing.

+1

We love ours ('07), really been a great truck so far, very versatile. We get 21.5 in the city, like the combination of performance and load space.

Good luck!

MACO is a regional advertising fee charged by BMW NA to your dealer. It would show up on the invoice, not your purchase order.

You are getting a good price. Enjoy the car.
