Does anyone have an idea how much would it cost?? 50K, 60K or above?

above 60K is my guess. They are marketing to the male who makes $200k plus. So, it will be loaded for about a 650 coupe range for the V8 and the 550i range for the I6 TT.

Incredible when the X5 is larger and cheaper. :dunno:

Have you guys seen the pricing on the new Toyota/Lexus Landcruiser/LX? :yikes:

Anybody think a Landcruiser is worth $70k? :dunno: Can you imagine driving a $70k car to a dealer that services Corollas and offers no service loaners?

And the new LX looks just like a large Highlander.

I'm not a man and not an SUV fan, but I kind of like the X6 from the photos. I'll have to check it out in person.

I'm sure we all bought our X5's for the looks and performance. If we wanted actual reliabilty we would all be driving Lexus.

My mom went through 3 toyota 4 runners within 6 months because they never worked. The engines siezed up on all of them. I am glad she stuck to their guns because they wanted to put in new engines, and of course she said no way in hell and wanted a new car. Impossible for resale. She went to BMW for an X5, had it 4 years, never once a problem.

Then I guess she is the exception on both counts. THEE most reliable cars on the planet are Japanese, particularly Honda and Toyota. It is not uncommon to be totally loyal to what ypu drive, and be blinded by it. I'm sure there are Yugo owners that spoke very highly of them too. I bought my X5 for the looks and handling, and freely admit I am gambling on reliability.

Agree that Lexus is a very reliable car especially SUVs. But BMW service is less expensive and spare parts as well. It might be different for US but in Ukraine we've just got first official Lexus dealer last summer. Believe it or not but all existing Lexus cars in Ukraine have been imported from US by small private companies till now. But hell of a lot of them.

Land Cruiser is an amazing SUV that is used throughout the around the world in all kinds of terrains and weather for real world task not just bring groceries home from neighborhood Costco. Land Cruiser are known for their toughness, reliability and awesome off-roading capabilities. No other manufacture other than Mitsubishi Pajero can even come close to Land Crusier. Is it worth 70K? Yes it if used to full potential otherwise it just another huge car on the road that majority us do not need.

Most other car company charge more than 70K but in reality you do not get a vehicle with 70K worth capabilities just a big shinny badge. Yes I am talking about Acura, BMW, and all American SUVs.

Just saw the X6 at the Detroit auto show the other day. Mind you, I'm a total SUV hater, but the new X5 and X6 both ROCK. If I was an SUV driver and could afford one, the X6 would be in my garage.

Is any vehicle really worth what they ask for it? Nah.

I find value in the BMW nameplate...It's free maintenance and superior sports performance are a big plus when it comes to value...But a Toyota SUV for 70K is laughable...

The 4.8i X5 is very much sufficient for me, its acceleration is unbelievable for an SUV, just cant imagine how fast the X6 would be.

Although it might sound strange, the bigger X5 being cheaper than the X6, you might want to ponder about the MB CLS against the MB E class. The CLS is more expensive than the E class although it is smaller and less efficient.

Since X6 basically runs on the same platform as X5 I don't think a base X6 will be that much more expensive from base X5.

Omer, yes Landcruisers are highly capable off roaders. There are others out there as well, overseas the Nissan Patrol is IMHO equal to the Toyota, as are the various Land Rovers, especially the Defender series. Our own Rubicon rated Jeeps are no slouch either, nor are the utility versions of Detroit SUV's, the ones that various law enforcement and fish and game folks use. All in all there are a lot of highly capable off roaders, without even considering the Hummer H1. And then there are the 4x4 HD trucks...Anyway there are a lot of choices depending on what you want, and the SAV's from BMW are probably what we are interested in, or we wouldn't be on this board.

Suprised that in my country, LandCruiser is only 72k$, RX350 100k$ and LX470 150k$! And X6 35i: 185k$ !!!

Where are you from? Land cruiser is about 130k at my home country, and 5 series costs about 100k (525i)

The free maintenance is a joke. I'm paying for my own oil changes because they won't change it till it hits 15000 miles. They claim that 15000 miles in between changes will be fine. I asked them this question: if that kind of stretch maintenance can keep the car going for 4 years and 48k miles, what happens after that period? The answer is: that's anybody's guess.
Well, that just sucks for anyone who wants to own the car for more than 4 years and for anyone who wants to by a certified pre-own.
So, unless you are leasing the car for the duration, you could be driving a beat up car after 4 years. That makes certified pre-own a even bigger joke. You are certified to buy a beat up car that was minimally maintained.

In any case, it's unlikely I keep any car for more than 4 years. I still pay for more than minimum maintenance, just in case.

I've owned 3 BMW's and have never gone 15k before oil changes...And as far as the CPO being a joke...I don't see how...If there was an issue why would BMW put itself on the hook for another 2 years and 50K miles...The fact of the matter is your using assuming ulterior motives when it is plain to see that the intervals that BMW uses is more than adequate to keep a beautifully running Ultimate Driving Machine!

That was the answer from the dealership. I didn't exactly make it up;)
