Strange problem on my 2004 X5 3.0 with 77K miles -

The driver's seatbelt where it goes into the door pillar plastic receiver has started to squeak when I shift in the seat while driving.

I think it is recoil mechanism. Normally I'd spray wd40 or silicon to cure such a problem, but I'm a bit reluctant since whatever goes into seatbelt plastic receiver will come out on the seatbelt and then onto my shirt.

I'd appreciate any suggestions as I came up empty when doing a Bimmerfest search.

I had a squeaking problem with my driver's belt and found it to be where the plastic on the end of the belt was rubbing against the side of the seat.

I was able to correct the problem by attaching the "female" side of a velcro strip where the belt rubbed against the seat.

Problem solved.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I've give it a shot this weekend. Regards.
