Hopefully, I will be finally picking up my X3 on Saturday after leaving it in Munich Nov. 8th. I was told by a service advisor at my dealer that many of the programmable options done only by the dealer on past models are now able to be set by the owner. Is this correct, or are many of the options still only able to be set by BMW service with their computer for the 2008 model?

Better find a different dealer for service. X3 is unchanged.

Cars with iDrive can be set by the owner.

And thankfully, the X3 does not have iDrive as of now.
