7.0s

6.9s

EDIT - With the N52 engine I believe the vehicle is plenty quick for a 4X4, and (it seems to me) a match for the V6RAV4 that we test drove. The Toy was plenty fast, to be sure, but had a little more torque steer (it was a 2WD version we had) than I would have liked, the brakes were a little spongy and the handling a little light in the turns. It did not feel quite as "planted" as the X3...still, it was a very close second to the X3 when we bought. For the money, it was hard to beat...

Here's the list of 0-100km/h acceleration times. (AT)

X3 2.0d: 8.9s (9.2)
2.5si: 8.5 (8.9)
3.0d: 7.4 (7.7)
3.0si: (7.5)
3.0sd: (6.4)

Yes, if you didn't realize, the fastest X3 is, and has always been in the past, the top level diesel version.

Those are current models. I think he is asking about the 2004-2005 2.5i and the 2004-2006 3.0i

X3 2.5i was 184 HP. Motortrend got 9.8S with the automatic.
X3 3.0i was 220HP. BMW claimed 7.6S Manual and 7.9S Automatic.
X3 3.0si is 260HP. BMW claims 6.9S Manual and 7.1S automatic.

I've driven them all and only the 2.5i with the automatic feels slow. As I recall the manual was a good second faster 0-60.

More important to me are the 60-0 times. Emergency handling is a big one too.

A reason why the 0-60mph accel times for the 2.5i automatic are slow is due to the gearing. I could be wrong if the 3.0iA is the same, but the 2.5iA requires 2 upshifts to get to 60; 2nd gear maxes out at 55mph.
