google. com or use the search feature on here.
What is it that you are trying to do. If you want more power i would say sell the car and buy a 325 or 328.
unless you want to SC that thing and spend @4-5k on it.

Yes. The 1.9 is the M44. I have the exact same year and model.

I for one am looking for a better sound. What route is the best and cheapest, intake or exhaust? I drive between 3000 and 4000 RPMs when I can. The motor tends to sound a bit thin at those revs. Higher revs (up to 6000) sound fine and normal to me. It's that everyday sound I want to enhance.

I saw that coming. What I'm interested in is some real "sound" advice.

Remove the snorkel on the airbox... basically fogg the thing. Gives a quiet idle, then when you gas it, it growls like a rabid dog...

Its exactly what I did... I cant speak for the increase in power - it feels like there is, but then that might just be the sound making me think its got more power... it definitly sounds a lot LOT better though!

It deffinatly irons out the flat spots IMO, and make its rev alot free-er..The first few times of driving after I did mine I was redlining all the time till I got use to it!
As ur cars a fairly newer version keep all the old pipes there and add a 2nd completely new intake pipe in from behind the fog light..U'll find the directions on how to do that on most sites that give u the FOGG instructions.. As for noise to make a real difference ur gonna have to replace ur exhaust, and find one that gives off the noise u want (I went AC Schnitzer...Deep enough to make surrounding houses shake but fairly quiet when cruizin on the highway so as not to be annoyin!)

This looks very easy to do. The air comes in through the side of the radiator, like the original on the other side. The obvious differences being it's larger and more direct. Can you see any faults doing it this way?

The internet police, eh. When you get a chance, check out the thread. It has nice photos of the thing made out of pvc and a plastic rain gutter spout. The nice thing is it screws on, no glue, real clean. The only question I have is if the air next to the radiator is as good as the air under the car. I would think so.
