No anti roll/sway bar??????? :s

Ive just got a 92 316i 4 dr. After looking underneath I decided to have all the suspension off replace bushes, give it a repaint and see to the common rust areas. However there is no rear anti roll bar but there is mounting points on the rear subframe and control arms?

Should my car have one, I think I read that some were not fitted with rear anti roll bars?

Is it a good idea to fit one if not? Obviously its been removed for some reason?
