whats this button do..

I was wondering what the blank black button between the drivers side window controls does?(on the left side of the shifter). I just got my car a couple weeks ago and cannot figure out what it does..can someone help me pleasee

It shuts off the rear window switches. I like to call it "the smite button" :)
