I just saw that the X6 launch date is April 19 2008.
When will factory tours start?

Bump. I'm very curious about this as well, as that's one of the main reasons we want to do PCD. Thanks

The factory still hasn't told us anything definite. They still say sometime between spring and late summer.
The X6 is not the only reason they are not currently letting the public in. They are also re configuring and getting ready to start building the X3 too.
I've also heard rumors of another new vehicle that may be built there, so if and when they do open back up to the public, it may be just for a short period of time.
They will post it on their website when they open back up for tours: http://www.bmwusfactory.com/build/guidedtour.asp

Thanks for the update. We will be keeping a close watch.
We will be relocating sometime this summer. I'd like to tour the plant before we move.

Just checked the website that Jonathan suggested:
"Tours will be suspended effective June 1, 2007 as the plant prepares for new model production."
I don't get it, thought the plant tours had not started yet? :dunno:
We would have liked to do PCD sometime in April but I guess that option is not available due to in-house training for the M3, correct? What would you guys recommend?

Thanks!
I just checked and the website hasn't changed yet. I'll check back after the 24th.
Hopefully they will be conducting tours for the general public and not just Performance Center customers.

It will open back up to the general public once they have all their tour guides trainned. However, until that happens it will be just for the PCD delivery guests at 3:15.

We will try and wait it out.
On the plus side if we wait we may get to see a little of plant expansion construction.
