In the midst of the auto tranny crisis I thought I would at least sound off on 1 problem solved by BMWNA (Although granted this prob. is nowhere near the severity of the tranny issues)

A few weeks ago I posted a thread about these rear seat plastic grommets in my X3 above the child safety latches. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2882961 I was missing one when I bought the car, its an 04 3.0 CPO. The dealer assured me they would take care of it, why wouldn't they, I figured it would be a .10 cent piece. Yeah right! Apparently I bought one of the ONLY X3's with this on it. I'm not sure how many were made, but a parts guy the odds of me getting one were like winning the lottery.

SO BMW has decided to recover the entire rear seat! I am actually pleased with this b/c now it will do away with the plastic buttons altogether. I no longer run the risk of loosing one a few years down the road and having to live with a hole in my seat!

Lets just hope they don't mess anything up when they switch out the seat cover!

That's great! A good example of BMW taking care of their customers.

Amazing that they would do that for an '04.
