Replacement unless you find somebody who'll "open the box AND take the money"!

First: This is a pun from a 60's game show "Take Your Pick' with Michael Miles.

The best option is the one where for the least cash outlay you receive a fully functional auto tranny returned that does not die for another 70K-100K miles. If you have somebody who knows what they are doing then jump on it! My mechanic this side of the pond can fit an after-market reman tranny for less than it would cost him to rebuild the existing. I don't think you have that option so are stuck with the $tealer or the rebuild.
