I've got a copy of the BMW service DVD on the way. I'll post here if the DVD has anything useful on it.

in 2007 they did a facelift of the car, a few interior bits as well as new rear tails and headlights, i have a set of the new tailights and want to make an adaptor for them to be plug and play.

anyone have a wiring diagram for the new model??? or the old one

I can't shed light on whether the wiring is different, but it is very easy to switch the taillight assmeblies. Make sure you have a 10mm socket.

I took a quick look at the wiring diagrams. The pin numbers on the light switch are different. I'll try and get some screen captures up soon.

Here is the LCI brake lights. Similar but not the same. The pin numbers on the light switch are different. I suppose someone should check realoem.com and see if the switch is different.

These diagrams are for an X3 without rear fog lights.

For some reason I only have LHD diagrams for the side lights.

They are different between 2006 and 2007.

This is the non-usa LHD 2006 01 to 2006 09

Side Lights Non-USA LHD MY 2007. I have no idea if this is the correct diagram for Australia.

I hope this is helpful. X10164 is the connector at the back of the light switch. A3A is the light switch clustor. A3 is the light module. A3 is located behind the dash in between the steering wheel and the light switch.

I'm not a BMW Technician and don't have access to additional information.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Anything in green on the wiring diagrams is a clickable link. Those are usually pin outs for the connectors or a short text description of the module.

The are several different versions of the light modules. Xenons / USA / Non-USA and production dates. For some option combinations there are two diagrams for MY 2006.

was completed however I sold the car. If your interested I'll sell you the lights and upgrade loom. Cost me over 1500 for the lot plus the research. Happy for any offers just to clear them out
