I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem as me. I have the park distance control feature on my 2003 X5 and I occasionally have to park on the street (as opposed to my garage). I live in downtown Chicago and the terrible drivers and limited parking space has led to my bumpers being hit a few times now and when that happens, the plastic housing of the pdc sensor on the bumper has broken 3 times now. Aside from not parking on the street, has anyone found a solution for this? Is there a housing that is made out of metal or something that would be more durable to the "bump and grind" parking in Chicago? Or, since I don't really need the pdc functionality, can I disable it and just put grommets where the sensors should be for the time being? Thanks for any suggestions!
