Has anyone used a caliper kit ( two gaskets??) to re-build their front brake calipers? Did it work or is it better to just replace them to assure that 'all' components inside are working properly?

Why? My front brakes 'shake' (front end) when slowing down at about 60 mph plus, while exiting of freeway. My alignment may also be off??. I also read about 'bushings' being a problem but wanted to explore all possibilities for 'fix'. :dunno:

BTW- no leaks present; good pads and fairly new rotors; good tires.

Shimmy's when braking are caused by worn front suspension arm bushings. Get the HD ones, not polyurethane (too stiff, squeaks), and do it properly. Procedure calls for the weight of the car on the suspension when tightening them down. If not done properly they will last only a couple of months. Also look for other suspension parts like idler arm, center link, tie rod ends, etc.

Good Luck!

Thanks, Jimmy.
I'm going to try a couple of things first before I spend the extra $$$ to see if this 'fixes' the 'shakes'. I'll give an update later...??
