View Full Version : HID fog help
I recently just bought an hid conversion kit for my fogs (9006).
I hooked everything up correctly but the lights wont turn on, the guy i bought them from tried to sell me some harness or resistor saying that i needed it but i passed because i have read that others dont use them.. could it be that i do infact need them?

you need that resistor my friend.
hey i just got my hid kit from a vendor that deals alot with bmw's, he said depending on your car model and year you might need a wiring harness and resistors. For 6 series he says you'll need them. I wont have mine installed for another couple weeks though so i cant tell you how they are.
yup hes right.. you need the resistors
looking forward to install, be sure to post pics!
it is literally plug and play even with the harnes. I will take pics of everything plugged up.. the hardest thing in my opinion would be finding a place to mount the ballast and how.. I think I'm going to mount it with double sided tape instead of the screw... I will def get the pics for you

How did everything turn out? I am having the same problems and my vendor is trying to sell me a harness. Do you have any instructions on how you did yours?
i didnt get to install them, the car was totaled before i could!
If the harness has the resistors on it you need them or else they wont turn on.
Its all very easy it should all be plug and play.
