I just bought some of this stuff, the spray and wipe stuff.... whats the proper technique? I imagine I'd want to go to spray off anything major before I do a waterless wash. I know that defeats the purpose, but to at least help prevent any possible scratching, if it's not below freezing I'd think I'd wanna go to a do-it-yourself thing and pop in a few quarters. Anyone who uses this, let me know how you do it, how much you use, how many mf towels you go through, etc.

Spray and wipe is a waterless product you do not need prewash the car unless you want to....proper way is spray on in a even manner on the panel and let set for a minute or two this allows it to loosen up the dirt....then I use a waffle weave MF towel you wipe the panel and turn over, to a clean side and finish, as the towel get real dirt get a new one or use two at a time one for the first pass the second for the finishing... this product will not marry the finish any more than washing and drying your car with a water and bucket...I have used it for years on all my cars...I use two large towel on a real dirt car.

Thanks dboy, I was looking for a reply from you since I saw you commented on this product once before!

How much do you spray, for example, on the front hood? Do you really drench it or just somewhat more than a misting? Sorry, I'm being anal. Also, this kind of stuff scares me... I just don't get how wiping a dirty towel over a car can't be bad for it. I figured I'd be using a lot more towels. Do you use it on your windows too, or just use glass cleaner and not waste this product on glass.

NO big deal and glad to help, I really like all of PB line

I wet the panels down pretty good, it doesn't have to be running off the car...just even wet if that makes sense, it might bead some but again dosen't have to been running off the car...watch the towel, if it starts to get real dirty on all sides get a new one....I like the two towel method, one for the first pass the other for the second and dry stage...I don't use it on the windows per-say...I use one of the wetter towels to wipe those down, then finish up with clean towels and glass cleaner....the wipe down gets a lot of the dirt and crud off the window making it easier to clean.

I can fully understand your concerns about marring but really I have not seen any more than the standard bucket wash and dry from it...the only thing about a bucket wash is that you can get into the cracks and corners faster and get a better over all clean, but in the winter and for fast cleanups, spray and wipe rocks

Lastly get some quick detailer spray to follow up after the S&W the cars will look freshly waxed....I do mine this way a few times a week in the better weather times

I gotta get the nerve up to do this. With the weather here and the fact that the drain is clooged in the garage I use, my car hasn't been wshed in 2 weeks. It's killing me.
I also havent been able to really clean and seal the war departments new car.

Not to hijack your thread, but dboy can I do this then clay etc?

I would wait on the clay part until you can bucket wash the car IMO...I'm not saying that S&W will not get the surface clean enough. The only draw back to a waterless wash in some cases is getting into the cracks, corners, seems, etc....If the clay was to pick some dirt that got loose from one of those it would cause scratching on the surface...S&W is a safe alternative to washing the car...in the years that I have used it the amount of marrying that I have seen from it was no greater than bucket washing and drying.
