When I join BMW CCA, do I need to join the chapter in my state? I live in CT, but NY seems to have more events.

Thanks!

Good question... I know when you join you then are a member of your local chapter.

I think by default you do. But, you should be able to participate at events from any chapter (but, please don't quote me on that).

The best thing is to call the chapter you are thinking about and ask.

I live in an area where I am closer to the San Diego Chapter but BMWCCA puts my membership with the LA Chapter. One can be a member of home chapter and an addtional chapter.

Assuming the chapter has a webpage and forum/calendar, become active on the forum and friendly at the meetings/events. I am positive you will be welcomed. A smile and generous attitude will go along way. Im always amazed that the 'snobs' almost never come. Some kind of cosmic friendly-filter is at work with BMWCCA active members.

You will get only the assigned chapters newsletter though.

I think you can ask to be affiliated with any chapter (but only one at a time(. Call the national office and enquire.

The NY Chapter and I are hosting a tour of the BMW Vehicle Distribution Center on 5. April in case you are interested. You can sign up by clicking here (http://www.nybmwcca.org/vdc).

If you haven't yet joined yet, feel free to use my membership number (36024) as referrer. You can join by clicking here (https://www.bmwcca.org/members/am/template.cfm?section=On_Line_Join&template=/bmwcca/custompages/join/joinsection.cfm&ref_id=36024).
