Anyone know what I need tobuy in order to get Sirius Satelite radio for my 2004 X3. Is it also worth having it professionally install or can i do thjis myself?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Do you want to do the factory install? If so you will have to find out if your X3 was option with satellite radio preparation.

I was really worried I would have to find a 3rd party setup or pay $500 for a factory install on my wife's 2004 X3. Ended up buying a BMW Sirius unit on ebay for $70. Took me 20 min. to install and works perfectly.
I've got XM in my 05 (yes we both have X3's) which is working pretty good. As long as you have satellite radio prep you're good to go. And you DO NOT need to get the exact part number for an X3. I'm pretty sure anything with the 3 and 6 pin plugs will work. The one I bought had a part number that ended in 981.
