My wife is thinking about a used X3, but she does not want wood trim. Since most of the acceptable X3's out there do have wood trim, is the swap to aluminum possible / approx. how much $$?

www.realoem.com has all the factory part numbers you need.

Interestingly enough, you can benefit from the new trims they put on the facelifted '07+ X3s. The '04s-'06 came with the aluminium trim with dotted patterns. Looks chic and sporty. But if you want a cleaner aluminium trim, you could use the brushed aluminium trim from the facelifted models.

From Tischer's site for the original aluminium trim:

$70 for each door pull and $213.80 for the centre console trim. Pricey.

The Brushed aluminium from the '07s is $80 each for the door and $277 for the centre console.
