My M5 seems to be buring a lot of oil recently. What is normal consumption for 500 miles?

What year is it? I just got my 2008 M5 and before the 1200 mile service it needed a quart! Seems like a lot to me.:yikes:

If you are in this forum then it must be an older M5 like mine? I have the original E28 M5 which by the way is incorrectly included as an E34 here?:dunno: After I passed the 150,000 my engine was burning about 1 quart every 2,500 miles. Got higher as the mileage go higher. This is normal for the S38 motor. I would consider a rebuild after 250,000 miles.
