Electronic Shift Light On!????

Hiya all, was wondering if anybody can help me out. Since smashing mine into a curb i have changed driveshaft, droplink, bottom arm etc etc. When i start the car then go to put it into reverse it just revs. I then put it into "e" it starts at 5th gear then changes down 4 3 2 1. Then have to put it into reverse and it will work!? It wont go straight into reverse first time and the electronic shift light is on. Any ideas on this one?

oooh... boy.... i am sorry to say this but it seems like you might have to get some transmission work. THat is too strange to be just a minor fix, or at least that is what it seems to me.

That crash must have done something to the tranny.

Weird shift patterns can also be the transmission computer. Have a real technician figure it out before you spend any money.
