E38 750iL and wheel spacers

OK, done the search but cannot find any threads on wheel spacers on an E38 (plenty on E65/E66).

Is anyone running with wheel spacers on the E38 750iL (any other E38 for that matter, but in particular this heavier version)?

If so, what width and have you had any negative effects (like trashed suspension from more axial loading)?
