Hey all,

When one chooses the front ventilated seats on the M5, does that mean you have to get the comfort seats? When I build a new M5 on the BMW NA site and choose the ventilated leather, the system automatically selects the Comfort Seats. If I try and change the Comfort Seats to the Multi Function seats, the BYO system removes the ventilated leather for non-ventilated leather....

Any feedback is appreciated!!!

I do believe to get the ventilated seats you have to get the Active comfort seats. The comfort seats have everything the normal ones have and more they are amazing! It's a highly worthwhile option. And especially if you get a black interior the seat ventilators are a very nice feature.

unless it's changed for the 08, my 07 came with it if you choose active.

Trust me, YOU WANT the active seats! :)

My vent seats doesnt really cool me down :(

I agree - the ventilated seats work better on my cousins LS460 than it does on the M5

Do you mean the Multi Function seats when you say active??? If the superiority of the Multi Function seats outweighs the cooling benefit of the Ventilated Seats, then that opens the possibility of the Portland Brown for a leather choice....

THANKS to everyone who has replied!!!!

The comfort seats and multi-function seats are the same.

Comfort seats are the option you need to choose for perforated leather, and multi-function seats are the ones you choose if you are using full leather (non perforated).

I just went through this same thing myself when ordering my M5 :)

Wow, you have an M3 in my favorite BMW color of all time, a new M5, and are getting a GT-R, and you make your wife drive a TSX?! At least get her a 335i vert or something!

I think the multi function seats move when you turn the car, it contours the seat (very nice option). I think the comfort seats have bigger headrest and is for the perforated leather.

Question - can you have the softer ventilated seats + the bigger headrest (i think comfort seats) + moving of the seats when you turn the car (i think multi function seats)
When I try this in "build my own 08 m5" it will not let me have the "perforated leather ($3,500 upgrade) without selecting "comfort seats with lumbar support" ($1,900 upgrade). If I select "Multifunction seats with lumbar support ($1,900 upgrade), it takes away the perforated seats.
