Hey everyone i have to get a new catalytic converter what do you guys think about using a universal and just cutting the old one out,and putting the new one up?...Also do i only have one on my car its a 1993 325i sedan. thanks everyone

well couldnt tell ya if you have more than one but an aftermarket cat should be fine. personally id just cut it off. but hey thats just me lol

Call a mechanic and check. Some BMW's CAN'T use aftermarket cats or they'll throw TONS of codes. I think it should be OK on an E36, but call an independent mechanic and run it by them just to double check.

93 is OBDI. It won't throw codes for the cat even if you remove it. Just buy 2 universals and cut the old ones out and have the new ones welded in.
