Greetings my fellow enthusiasts. I'm getting my mom a 535i and would like some feedback on how the deal sounds to you all. Many thanks in advance. :)

08 535i (36m/10k)
Alpine White / Cream
Premium Pkg
Steptronic
Nav
Comfort Access
Park Distance
Satellite Radio

Now I'm also factoring a $10,000 payoff from her existing cls500 lease into the final payment. (Spread over 36 mo's or $277.77/month extra)

The lease price I was quoted was $999.42/month with $5750 total down. (This includes the $10k)

My 07 530i only costs me $569/mo (36 mo's) and I put down $4000

Thoughts, opinions, ammo........please.

If you don't give us the total cap. cost, invoice cost, MF, etc., it's virtually impossible to back into those numbers and figure out whether it's a "good deal" or where and how the deal is not "good."

I find in general that people who don't post those numbers don't know them or didn't pay attention to them, and that means they didn't negotiate from the invoice up, and then negotiate on the MF. That in and of itself does not bode well for getting a "good deal!"

+1

This looks like a deal that was focused on the monthly payment...under $1,000... :)

I don't have an invoice or anything other than the "build-it-yourself-online" bit.

I'd appreciate what to ask for, look out for etc.

Ok the MSRP is $56,470. How much are YOU paying for it?

I know . . . $999.42 per month :bawling:

The negative equity on the Merc is what is screwing you. You can get a 7er for that payment and down.

You need to ask the dealer for the print out from the BMWFS system, which will include things like MSRP, adjusted cap cost, bank fee, money factor, residual, monthly payment, etc. Leasing can be turned into a shell game by the dealer if you don't know what you're doing, particularly if you're only focused on the monthly payment.

Go to the ask-a-dealer subforum and get the current BMWFS money factors and residuals.

The post below has a link to a lease calculator spreadsheet I put together--input the variables in red and it will calculate the lease payment:

you are getting it for your mom! That is very nice of you :) you are getting a lot of points...

the way i see it you are paying $733 a month which is reasonable. the $277 is for the CLS. The only problem i see is the downpayment is a bit high. if you negotiate it down to $3000 then i would say it is a reasonable deal. check if there are any incentives from BMW. good luck
