I have done a search, but can't seem to find a straight answer on this one. Can you run a 255/40/19 in the front of an X3 without any problems (rubbing etc...)?

i have been researching rims and wheel size for the last month. i am buying 20 in rims 9.5 wide for front and back. i am either going to a 255 35 20 in front and a 275 40 20 on the back. you should have no problem with your 19 in rims. i am hoping that my info is correct since i have my new rims coming tomorrow.

Thanks Bob, that is exactly what I have been looking for. I would be very interested to hear how the ride is with the 20's on. I would like to go to a 20 over a 19, but am afraid the ride might suffer. What year is your X3?

my bmw is a 2007 sport. i am also concerned about the ride with the 20'' rims. there have been no reviews or articles on 20'' rims for an x3. i guess somebody has to be first so i am taking a chance. if they don't work on my x3 i'm sure somebody with an x5 would buy them. i have a bmw k1200s and a hayabusa that goes over 200 mph so risk taking must be in my blood. when i get the rims and tires on i will post pictures. i just got the rims from blustar in california and they look very cool.

Good luck with your wheel choices. Even if the tires rub a little, you can always roll your fenders.
