X6 Orders Taken Now?

Just got a call from Crevier BMW this morning. A sales rep was telling me that they are taking order for the X6 (V6 only) that are scheduled to be built. He asked me if I wanted to put in an order with a $1,000.00 100% refundable deposit. Claimed that I could see the car as early as 6-8 wks! A bit sooner than the typical 2 month ordering period.

He wasn't able to give me any pricing (a bit suspicious), but saw a post on pricing on this forum yesterday.

Is this guy pulling my leg?

BMW of SD did the same... I believe they had two production spots which sold out very quickly. I understand that Irvine has 4 that are slated for May/June arrival none of which have been sold.

Pricing is out though :-)

I went in to place the order with the sales rep that day back on 02-27-08 for my X6.

I'm still waiting for the car to go into production though (it's status is still "Ordered"). He gave me a production number, however, when I tried to track it through the website, it's showing up as a M3 coupe! I called the sales rep who assured me that it is for a X6 and that it could be an error on the website.

I'll keep you guys posted. Can't wait to actually see the car!
