Cleaning behind the headlight covers

I noticed...that no matter how clean my car is looking, the headlights covers on my 99 323i are dirty...i would like to clean them..i have used clear plastic polish on the outside, but dirty behinf the lens....how easy is it to get the covers of the headlights and clean the inside of them?

I'm pretty sure your headlights are sealed. There is probably a way to take them apart. You might want to float this question on the E46 forum.

They are sealed and should have been manufactured such that they were clean on the inside. Are you sure what you're seeing is on the inside? And is it on both? One seal might have been compromised, but both isn't as likely. As andersemtp suggested, post this query to the E46 forum, either here on bimmerfest or at http://e46fanatics.com/
