Newer cars have ambient lighting, and I saw on BMW's site that the 7 has ambient lighting. I know audi has white lighting, but what lighting does the 7 have?

Also I love the look of the wood in the 760LI, is it possible to put this into a 750LI?
For 760LI owners, what MPG are you getting? The BMWUSA site sucks, they have the same info for weight and power for the 750I, 750LI, and 760LI.

If a 7 has the option of soft-close doors, will the system be damaged if someone slams the door shut as if in another car? Does the trunk also have a soft close feature?

Has anyone attempted to change the color of the gauges from the orange color to maybe white?

Did the 2006 7 have a night-vision option available?

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

lighting - there are some options out to get you that clean white lighting instead of the oem halogen look for the interior/license plate/convenience but warnings might show up on your idrive indicating the bulb is out...

doors - i dont think anything will happen to the soft-close doors if you close them like any other door, i think theyre there to close them for you if you dont close them all the way...

other questions - i really dont know...

Ambient lighting, not the map lights. I mean like my current car has dimmed led's in the footwells to give a little ambient light. Also they are in the map-light dome to provide ambient light over the center console. I know the audi A8 has it in the pillars and few other places. Does the 7 even have it, or is it another error on BMWUSA's site.

That converts to 12.4 MPG. Do you find yourself lisiting to the music of the v12 in high RPM' s often, or is the guy 3 posts above driving like a granny.

You must either (a) have a heavy lead foot or (B) do all your driving in city traffic..I have a leadfoot and the tickets to prove it and i get roughly 22-25mph on average. Am i the only one getting this type of MPG?

I have soft close door option and now it kills me when people slam the doors, but you're right.. nothing will happen to them if there slammed.

Do you drive highway alot? My current SUV has a 3.7 litre 6 cylinder in it and it gets only to 95MPH on the highway at most, but it does have a heavy SH-AWD system in it.... But a v12 getting 22-25MPH, that must be one slow car...
Joking aside, My current SUV gets around 18 MPG on the highway, and I have a lead foot only when merging. This def. is a sign that I should get the 760LI in my garage soon.

vsapra has a 760 so those numbers seem reasonable.

MPG depends a lot on how you drive. Most Bimmers will get in the 30s in smooth highway driving. 20s in local unless you do a lot of extreme ups and downs.

i think you have to factor more things into the equation then just that.

didn't you decide you were getting a 760Li quite some time ago. go out and get it already. they are selling at rock bottom prices. if your seriously concerned about gas consumption, then cross the V12 off your list. actually you can forget the E66 all together.

:rofl:i sure do. actually my wife drives it. no offense taken. honestly, it might be the best car we got. its got the touring package (fully loaded) and the touch screen display is super user friendly. the car has some unbelievable options for a car that costs under $30k. too bad it looks like a cheese wedge:eek: straight to the tint shop from the dealer.

i have avg. 19 liters for 100 kms.That's infact not that bad. I do 16 for 100 km's.

By the way, I did order new LED lights for the door handles.
Original BMW offcourse. They will install the brighter, whiter versions that's in the new 7/5/3.

Where did you order them from, the dealer? Is it the same style bulb that is in our car?

I filled up the SUV recently and it cost around 80 dollars for going only 250 miles. It came across my mind to get the better fuel consuming 750LI, but now that I see that the 760LI profits me, the 750LI has no room on my list. The reason I am waiting is for my lease on my current car to be up. It would be a waste of money to have 3 cars in my garage, and only use 2 at most (SUV for hauling stuff and people, car for myself)

Also getting a prius, HELL NO!! That thing has as much luxury as a brick.

get rid of that super luxurious TL and get a Pry-ooos. i think you broke the cableguys record for most posts without a bimmer. make up for it by getting the B7.

Can't break the lease on it that easily... I don't mind staying in it right now, it gets the job done. Also no to the B7, no LI version of it. I browse around a lot and research a lot before getting the car. Before this, when I was poorer, I had the choice between the old G35 or TL, it took me 6 months to pick the TL, arguement was FWD, but great interior, RWD, but horrible interior.

right now I have a bit of money that I can spend, but I have only alloted myself around 70K of it for a car, the rest has to go for other stuff. So I can't really afford a new 760, plus the deprecation on a new one is going to hurt a lot.
