hey all, i'm an e39'r but i got a quick question. one of my friends has a 92 325i that started dying while driving down the highway. according to him the abs light came on, then his radio started to give out and eventually the car just completely died. given the cars age( i dunno the mileage, over 150k i think) i told him that it was most likely the alternator but that it could also be the grounding for the alternator or the voltage regulator. the belts fine. given that he's not of a mechanical mind and that i've never looked at the car, i'm pretty sure that the grounding strap is fine and that it is the alternator itself that decided to quit. sorry for being so verbose, but i've never worked on a e36 before. thanks for all your help in advance.
