I live in the southern California sun and it has really done a number on my convertable tops plastic window. It is now a rigid crack producing problem. I feel like every time i put it up and down it creates a new tear/crack. i have shoped around a bit for a repair or replacement solution but every option seems way too pricey, it's just a piece of plastic! i have read a bit about the DIY option with the zipper and all but i still can't find a reasonable price for the window itself. I have also been told that even if i do that then the original stitching holding the zipper to the top might not hold. The cost of a new window and dealing with installing it doesn't seem to be far off of the cost of a whole new top. Does any1 have any info to help me make my decision or possibly an alternitive??? Maybe a less expensive window or top supplier? Any info would be much apprietiated!!!

The plastic from the dealer, I think is only a couple hundred dollars. The factory window zips into the top. A little difficult to install though. I am assuming it is the original top. If you replace the top, you will also have to replace the tension straps especially if it is a power top. I replace tops for a living in New Jersey.....
