Hi Guys,
Just a little thing that has been bugging me! i am trying to change my front 5 1/4" speakers. I have changed the one in passanger side footwell but cant get the speaker panel off drivers side because of the hood release! anybody know how to remove it? Also i heared my central locking box is in drivers side footwell, will i see that when i remove the speaker panel? i think that need replacing too as the locking is kicking back!
Any help,
Many thanks

Unbolt the fastener that holds the hood release lever to remove the kick panel.

That's a fault of the door closure sensor located in the door lock mechanism inside the door. This sensor needs to 'see' the door closed before it will allow you to lock the door. If indeed this sensor is malfunctioning, your window for that door will not vent or seal when you open and close the door.

i cant see a bolt holding the hood release on, looks like a plastic cap but cant pry it off. My sensor may be at fault, my light doesnt come on when i open the door, what does the sensor look like and where is it located?
Thanks.

On the hood catch there should be a plastic cap in the centre, then i think is a phillips screw as for the lights not working look at the black catch which is in the door seal, when thr door opens you can see a small black switch on this catch try pressing the swith to see if anything happens this is the switch for the lights and window module.

The OP's car has the door closure microswitch in the door lock mechanism in the door, not in the striker as your year and model.
