I would bet yes, but figured I would ask...

At the PC, do they have a place where you can buy BMW accessories for the X5, lifestyle and other?

Thanks.

They have a small store there with some "toys", but not a lot. Any dealer added accessories can be installed at PC, if you order them more than two weeks prior to your pick up date.

What is the charge for installation of accessories at the PCD?

For example, how much to install an alarm in my 335i convertible?

Jonathan, can you answer?

Thanks,

We have a store here, but they mostly sell Performance Driving School apparel. There is another gift shop at the museum "Zentrum". They have move general BMW and a few X5 & Z4 items.

You can visit www.bmw-online.com (http://www.bmw-online.com/index.asp)and purchase anything out of the BMW Lifestyles catalog or order those directly from any BMW Parts dept.

As noted above we can install any vehicle accessories as long as your dealer submits an order two weeks prior to your delivery date (for items that need to be painted, I would suggest ordering them even sooner).

All vehicle accessories will need to be ordered by the dealer and paid through the dealer.

Our current labor rate is $70 an hour. Attached is a BMW Accessories Reference Guide. It has the recommended BMW installation time, which is what will be charged. The hour can be broken down into 6 minute intervals which equal $7 each. On the chart if it requires .2 hours of labor that would be $14 ($7 x 2 = $14). As always the labor rate and installation times are subject to change but this will give you a good idea.

As for cost on Accessory items, all I can quote is MSRP. It is up to the dealers if they extend any discount to a customer, but it should never be above the MSRP.

Hope this helps

Jonathan I looked on your pricelist and there wasn't anything on it about Sirius other than a reference to another source. I'm about to place my order for a Z4i, probably by the end of the week (still working out some last details). Can I order a Sirius at that time to be installed at PC, rather than at the dealership, and how much would it cost me total (radio & installation)? I have my own subscription already. If it matters, I'm not ordering any other electronic options, just premium pkg, heated seats, xenon, and auto tranny. Thanks

PS: if I have to pay for my own mats to be installed at PCD is there a standard price at which I can just order them thru the dealer as a line item? thanks again

Sirius can definetely be installed here. For a price on that, just have your CA submit an Accessory Request form for a quote. The labor and parts needed changes based on what the vehicle is already equipped with.

From my previous experience with Sirius being added to the vehicle, you'll get 1 year pre-paid with that esn#. Here is the catch... You have to create a new account in order for the pre-paid service to apply. If you add it to an existing account you'll loose the free year. What I recommend is setting up a new account to get the free year and adding any additional radios to that account to receive the mutiple receiver discount.

It depends on what vehicle it is going in and which mats you want.

For a list of accessories with MSRP pricing, visit http://accessories.bmwusa.com/VehicleSelection.aspx?yr=2008

If the accessory item is not on that site, you will just have to call the parts department at a local dealer or have your CA send in an Accessory Request form to our Service Department.

Hope this helps

So today I received an email from BMWNA indicating my car has been loaded for shipment to the US and should arrive on or around July 1st. The email also indicated:

"If you would like to purchase additional vehicle accessories (i.e. floor mats, alarms) please bring your new BMW to any certified BMW dealer after you have taken delivery at the Performance Center. Vehicle accessories cannot be pre ordered for installation at the Performance Center."

This seems to be completely inconsistent with the information on this forum. Has something changed? I have already filled out a form at the local dealer for added accessories to be installed at the Performance Center. :dunno:

As long as there is a 2 week window, accessories can be ordered for most vehicles that are being delivered here.

Is this a normal purchase thru a BMW dealer or is this a Military Sale?

I don't think they can do accessories on a Military Sales vehicle unless it goes through an actual dealer, since our shop cannot process payments directly from customers.

If it was a last minute European re-delivery, they may not have time to put the accessories in at this point.

Send me a PM with your name and production # and I'll be glad to see what the issue is.

Is it possible to order parts from another dealership and have them send the parts to the PC? The reason I ask is, I have a good relationship with a BMW dealer who didn't sell me my car.

From my understanding, our shop has to order the parts they are installing. Otherwise if they go to install something and it is not working correctly, they can't send it back and get a new one as it is not in their inventory.

That is excellent. Thanks, Jon!

I looked over the list and did not see any "performance parts" (i.e. short shifter kit Part #25110430357). Are there any performance parts that you could install on an E92 335Xi? I am hoping to be there in Sept.

Thanks!

Pretty much if you can find a BMW part# for your CA to provide on the Accessory form and our shop can order and receive it in time, it can be installed.

They just can't do anything that is not sold directly from BMW.

You should order Sirius as a factory installed option when ordering your car. The dealer can install it but the antennae may not be the same as the factory unit. I had a 5 Series "retrofitted with Sirius (it was pre-wired for Sirius) but the antennae was not "factory" and looked added-on.

Thanks for posting the accessory reference guide.

I'm planning on ordering a 2009 535xi for ED soon. I'm also considering a PDC re-delivery. I would like to add the M aerodynamic kit and M rear deck spoiler. It wasn't clear from the reference guide whether you paint the accessories or not or just do the install.

Thanks,

Brian

For those kind of parts ordered through the Performance Center, they would have to be painted here as well.

I'm pretty sure the dealer can order the aero kit through the VPC on some vehicles, which would be cheaper. They would basically have it painted and ready to install on your vehicle when they process it at the port.

Jonathan: Although you quote MSRP, does my BMWCCA membership card get me any discount for PCD installed accessories or local store goodies?

For the accessories, our shop bills your dealer. So they would be the one to determine if they will extend a BMWCCA discount.

As for our gift shop at the Performance Center, they extend a 15% discount to anyone that shows their BMWCCA card. I'm pretty sure the gift shop at the factory offers a discout too, but don't know how much.

Let me know if you need anything else
