View Full Version : Kenisis Wheels Group Buy??
Anyone interested? I have no connections and I have no idea how this could work. All I know is I want a set of K58s and I don't want to pay $4000 for them.

They're based out here in So Cal. I can ask around the local club and see if anyone has the hook-up with those guys.
Will keep you informed.

Wholesale on rs-gt's (not rg-r) is in the $2200 range plus tires. I think I can tolerate spacers for $1800 savings.
I see a Kinesis logo on the purems.com banner...

JonM, I have Kinesis's contact information...
DAN WU
You and your friends might want to look at the Kinesis Motorsport Web Site: www.Kinesismotorsport.com
Peter Stacy is the President. Daughter Nichol Stacy is Marketing Mgr: Alan Baylis is Sales Mgr. Their TEL No. in Vista is (800) 888-6754.

I have a few local club members interested in the same group buy...I can inquire into the group buy for you if you wish?
IIRC Kinesis was non-responsive when we tried contacting them about AC jacks.

Yeah, but a few of us had some good conversation going at TechFestWest when they came and had a booth...I might be able leverage that by mentioning a few big-wigs at the L.A. Club may want to be in on the GP as well.
If you think MikeKim can organize some sort of group buy for Kinesis wheels, I'd rather use his resources than my own.

I can organize a kinesis GB, we need at least 5 orders.
Right now my shop is not a vendor yet, but really if you guys are seriously interested, for the sake of this GB I will commit myself to be a supporting vendor starting in the month of May most probably.
Plus still redoing the company website...:p

Vincent, that sounds great...Please let us know what you find out and what kind of group discount we can be expecting.

What I need are the types of wheel that you guys are interested in, the sizes and what sort of finish.
Also if you have found some prices from other online sellers please let me know, either PM me or email me at vince@premierautowerks.com so I can work out the best pricing I can give to you guys. I know if I can get at least 5 people participating I can give at least 5% off more discount that I already give usually.
Thanks.
Dan, you contact Mike about this yet? The big advantage he has is he's within reasonable driving distance from Kinesis so it may be possible to save an extra shipping step+cost.

I don't think it really matter cos I'm pretty sure they will dropship as well.
Jon, the K58 you mentioned for $4000 I assumed those are for 19s?

I'll let Pure Motorsports (one of our board sponsors) step in here soon. We'll need a list of people interested as well as style/size wanted. The discount is SIGNIFICANT!
Mike said we'll need more than 5 to make the discount even more significant, but if it's 2-3 people then he can still accomodate us.

K58s: 18x8 front, 41mm offset, 18x10, 8mm offset rear, standard clear anodize/polished lip finish. Retail is $39XX. Speedware in Seattle wants $3550 + tax.

Non GB pricing I can do $3450 + shipping or + tax.
GB pricing, at least 5 people I can do $3200 + shipping or + tax.

No probs.
Also for the older styles, K5, K10 and K20, the prices are slightly lower as well.
While the K19/29/59 19" wheels carry the same prices are the K19R/29R/59R reverse lip 18" wheels.

Jon, I don't know if you got my email but I'm going to email Leif (he's expressed interest). I'll point him to this thread.
Vincent, I wonder if you can email me, danwu1@yahoo.com. I've received from another source a better price for this group buy...I need to coordinate between you two and see which vendor will step up, I don't want to create a bidding war.
Dan, I can't get @LeatherZ.com email at Boeing. Already got corrective action on that once. Will check when I get home. If AndyM can sell his RG-Rs, I suspect he will jump at K58s too so he can get the right offset and 7.5 or 8" wide fronts.

Do they come in M3 offsets?

Kinesis claims they come in all offsets with no spacers. Each set is custom machined to spec. 2-4 week lead time per my latest conversation with Kenisis. Longer for custom finishes.

All Kinesis wheels are custom made depending on car applications with varying offsets and in some cases, different types of machining to provide the least weight.
Also for local customers I can also provide a matching tires set with a discount.

Hi Guys,
We would be happy to help out with a small group buy on the Kinesis wheels. I don't expect huge demand for these wheels, as they're pretty unique and costly.
Our normal prices on these are really quite competitive to begin with, but if we could gather 3-4 people, we'd be happy to extend a discount on these.
K58, K28, and K18 models all have identical price structures.
18x8 - Retail $1000
18x9 - Retail $1015
18x10 - Retail $1045.
Our normal prices are
18x8 - $774
18x9 - $786
18x10 - $808
For a small group, we'd be able to offer the following.
18x8 - $750
18x9 - $760
18x10 - $780
All pricing assumes standard finish. Wheel delivery times would be between 2-5 weeks after order is placed. Pricing is "EACH".
Shipping to you is extra. CA residents would add 7.75% sales tax.
Please email us info@pure-motorsport.com if you have specific questions, or are interested in signing up.

Here's our GB pricing structure on Kinesis K18/28/58
For at least 3 orders we can do:
18x8 - $750.00
18x9 - $760.00
18x10 - $780.00
For at least 5 orders we can do:
18x8 - $700.00
18x9 - $710.00
18x10 - $730.00
These prices plus shipping, WA residents are subject to 8.8% tax.
If you would like other series wheels or other sizes.
Let me know.
We get very good pricing on Kinesis, however I know that Pure Motorsports can do just as good on BBS.
So all is good :)

I'll leave this up to those participating in the group buy, but let me first say I dropped the ball on this one. I probably should have gotten pricing from both competing vendors and make a decision. In the future vendors participating in a group buy please email me your prices first before you start posting them here.
But since Pure Motorsports is a sponsor of this board I'd like to voice my endorsement of their shop. However both vendor seems very reputable so I'll leave that decision up to you guys.

the M Coupe in the picture seems to be running the K59R series which is an 18" with reverse drop center, while the Audi A4 is running the K29 19" wheel or the K29R reverse drop center wheel. I can't quite really make up the picture cos it's kinda small.

Is the difference between K58 and K58R just the "lip" on the inside edge of the rim between the rim and the web?

Is there a price difference between the 2?

Yes, funny because they used to call the one with reverse lip the K#9R...I guess customers thought they would be 19" so they change the name.
But like I mentioned earlier, the R series comes with bigger centers, reverse mounted and only single lip as opposed to the dual step lip on the non R series.

I'm interested in getting some pricing on the K57s and K28s (standard finish and polished & anodized type 3 dark finish) fitted on a 2003 MINI Cooper S and shipped to Lake Worth, FL (33463).
Also, if possible I'd like to get some pricing on K29s (polished finish) fitted on a 2003 Nissan Z Touring and shipped to Boca Raton, FL (33496).
If you can't figure out the pricing on all of the above the two wheels I mostly want pricing on are (fitted to the respective vehicles above):
K28 polished & anodized type 3 dark

K29 polished

It seems that the GB is almost dead, only very few people are interested.
Prices have changed too, I talked to Alan at Kinesis today and received the new pricelist...they increaseda little as well, around $50-$80/ea at retail so still pretty acceptable.
They are also starting to do more types of finish combinations which looks pretty good.
So let me know guys :)

I'm interested in the K28 or K58 in 18x9.5 all around so that I can run 265s on my 2002 M3.
Also, what is the weight of these wheels?
