Let's see.. 4.7 to 60, 13.3 quarter, .94 skid pad, 102 ft 60-0, and some interesting track numbers.

"I'm blown away by this little stealth fighter. I can't recall another car that's been more surprising to drive; I expected the 135i to offer solid performance, but it's breathtakingly quick. Refined, too-it's a bona-fide BMW. Direct and communicative steering feel, bags of grip. An absolute blast to drive."

You know, in the past people would throw tech specs numbers around from competetive offerings and wave them in the faces of BMW owners faces.

They were always answered with the fact that driving a BMW is allot more than a quick 0-60 time.

The 135i is a great car. You bought one and you are happy. Great. It's a nice addition to the BMW line up.

Can we get pass the numbers now?

That's impressive for an automatic. It's a 35k car that puts down numbers to rival an e46 M3 or an STI.

The numbers are just as important as every other factor... after all this is a automotive website.

I see that the cost vs a 335i was brought up in the review.

Lets add this info and the tech numbers to all the posts in 1 series forum. Then we have everything covered.

These are Motor Trends numbers. Edmunds, Road and Track, and Car and Driver made their own measurements and in some cases they are different. (skidpad was in a range of .95 to .89). Numbers are important. Numbers from several sources are important. They are the metrics from which we start to form our expectations. They are not an end all and how the car drives against our requirements is the most important consideration. However, numbers help us decide what to test drive and how to narrow our choices. Umm.. and of course there is the knowledge that my car can kick everyones' ass that mitigates the risk any potential product dissatisfaction.

Oh.. almost forgot. 4.7 to 60, 13.3 quarter, .94 skid pad, 102 ft 60-0, and some interesting track numbers. $6000 less than a 335i.

Agree with you on many points but the 335i right now can be purchased via ED for about the same price as a 135i. Hopefully, BMW will change that and allow the 1 series to go ED like other cars. Right now the real price gulf at dealerships is about 2-3k.

Yes it will change, its a new model.

I saw a post the other day on 1addicts, someone got a 135i $1,000 over invoice in New Jersey.

So its already happening. By the end of the year it will be like every other BMW model, same discounts.

How your entire self worth revolves around the theoretical ability of the 135 to "kick other cars ass?"

that or how a 135 can make 3 inches look "above average"

It will be nice to see the lease rates/programs get better, too. Just for kicks, I built comparably equipped 335s and 135s on BMW's website, then got estimated lease payments from BMWFS. While I know the estimated payments don't take into account many items that can be negotiated with the dealer, the payments were essentially the same. With better pricing on the 335 right now, a negotiated 335 lease payment would probably be less than that on a 135.

I saw that too, and if you kept reading you would've seen how skeptical adrian was about the deal. Not saying that it didn't happen, but it's probably a very rare one, for now.
