Have been enjoying my 335xi since picking it up last October, but we've had a pretty brutal winter in the Chicago area this year... and the numerous freeze-thaw cycles has helped to create more monster potholes around here than any year I can remember.

Unfortunately I've managed to hit a few despite my best efforts to avoid them. And now I'm faced with a couple of bent rims (front and rear, left side). My local dealer (Motorwerks) quotes $250 to repair each, plus strongly recommends a wheel alignment too (another $150).

Wondering what's a typical price to repair wheels, and if anyone in the Chicago area has any recommendations on local repair pros. Thanks in advance!

I just had two bent rims repaired at http://www.cjwheelrepair.com in Cincinnati. I drove from Dayton to their shop since I was in Dayton for a week and then back 2 days later to pick them up.
They got both wheels in spec (less then 0.025"), one rim 0.016" and the other 0.017".

They touched them up as well and did a great job. Mine were $90 per wheel plus tax since I was in Ohio when I got them repaired. I think you would not pay sales tax but would pay shipping.

I will see if I can find the pictures of my bent wheels so you can see how bent they were.

I am not associated with CJ Wheel Repair but did have a good experience using them.

I forgot to add that I bought my car at Motorwerks too but since I am stationed in Florida and work some in Ohio I decided that I should try to repair my rims. My BMW dealer would only replace the wheels because they were hit so hard. They have a gentlemen that will repair them if not beyond his capability but these apparently were.

So given the fact I was going to have to buy two new rims and one new tire I decided to get my rims back and take them to a pro as mentioned above in my previous post.

I am planning to get my same tires, Conti SSR's mounted on these repaired rims this week and have a spare rim. I plan to keep one in Ohio when my car is there and one in Florida when the car is here.

I hated not being able to have a spare but since the pothole I hit damaged both wheels I would have been out of luck anyway. I have a inflation kit and tire repair kit for the road but it would have been useless this time around. Both wheels were rubbing the calipers.

Depending on the rim you have you might consider buying a used one as a back up plan.
Just a thought...

Have you thought about buying used wheels? Not long ago I saw a set off of a new just delivered 335 sell for $1,100 with tires and sensors. I think they had 40 miles of use. There is almost no demand for OEM wheels. You see them all the time for $4-500. GH
