My sunroof switch has to be held in to close the SR. It doesn't automatically close when the switch is fully depressed(like the open feature). Is that safety feature or is the switch bad?

I have an E46 and it does close "one touch" as it opens. Could this be a feature of this year car?:dunno:

Don't know if you knew this but when you leave your car there is no need to wind up windows and close sunroof. If you hold the key in the lock position it automatically closes the windows then the sunroof. Pretty cool feature!

It doesn't have an auto-close because that's a safety feature to keep anyone from accidentally getting a hand or arm caught in the sun roof. If your child is standing up in the seat and you've looked the other way, it'd be very easy for them to get injured.
