Another service light question!

This is NOT about how to reset! I have used the "ground the pin" method and it has worked fine on my '94 325 'vert but since the last time I did it only one green light shows up on the right side of the indicator and no other lights (green, yellow or red) ever showed during 5,000 miles before my next oil change. Did I screw something up that I need to worry about or am I OK with just the one light? I changed oil a week ago and did the reset again with no change - still just the one green light. It still goes off after a few seconds. I can't find anything like this posted under "search".

i have 1996 318 convert.
get several green lights when fresh..then count down..less green lights..then i change oil before i get to yellow or red..if you hold pin too long you reset the inspection.
i find that the lights are just a guide, what really matters is that we change the oil...
just thinking : maybe if inspection is do soon it may not be showing the miles(lights) to oil change because inspection would occur first.
