Hey, guys. I've got a dilemma I'd love some feedback on.
The other day, my car started making a strange knock/thump sound, particularly under right turns and over bumps. I took it to my mechanic who had a look and told me there was a piece of rubber missing under the right rear spring. He said it's not a big deal, that it'll be noisy, but that the car is perfectly safe to drive normally. He also said that it's a cheap part, just a piece of rubber, but it would be a lot of money in labor to replace because of how the spring is situated. Hard to get underneath it, I suppose.
Would this be a spring pad? If not, what's the part I'm missing? And is it something I'd be able to fit in there myself, or would it really be a lot of labor?
Thank you in advance!
