Do we know that the hybrid will be a V8? I would have placed my bet on an I6.

Do we know that the hybrid will be a V8? I would have placed my bet on an I6. Yes, it will be a 407hp 4.4 liter V8.The same guy in the Automotive News article (the BMW Board Member) said BMW wanted to prove you could have a very sporty car AND good gas mileage.I thought for sure as well it would be the I6.I guess not.BMW has so much brand equity in "Performance Cars", I guess making a V8 that's fun to drive and get good gas mileage is the ultimate challenge for BMW.Thanks.PalBay

Audi canceled Q7 hybrid due to weak dollar and hence too high price tag. Would you pay $10K premium over regular V8 car to save 3mpg? I seriously doubt that savings will be anywhere beyond that. After all, hybrid king Toyota cannot make even less powerful RX 400h consume less that 22-23mpg. LS600h barely makes 20.

There are no miracles. Just laws of physics.
