Is it possible to use the E46 convertible HK Subwoofer in a E36 convertible? Does anyone know if it will mount the same as the E36 subwoofer (ski boot area)? and can this also be added to a non-HK system? If so, how should it be wired? I believe the E46 subwoofer has a built in amp...if so, does this also need to be wired to the battery as a traditional amp?

All help is greatly appreciated.

im guessing its not going to be a perfect fit. just look for the E36 kit

man, theres an important quote to be remembered here....

"anything will fit, if you care enough".

just me being curious.. what advantages would you get from having the thing from an e46?
dual 12" box fits perfectly in 36's:

Since this is a convertible...I can't afford to take away trunk space...the empty space behind the seats in the vert is ideal and unused...probably why they OEM sub is placed there. I can get an factory E46 sub easier than and E36 sub from a convertible.
