(Haven't meet me on other BMW boards I frequent or in person? Read on.)
It started back in 1995 with an '89 E30 325i (5spd) and I was officially hooked in 2000 after adding a '97 E39 540iA to the stable.
Over the past few years, I've spent quite a bit of time performing and documenting as many do-it-yourself (DIY) mods as monetarily possible. Even though my mod-fever is slowing, I still enjoy answering all the easy questions like, "why doesn't my passenger-side rearview mirror tilt down anymore?". :p
For my efforts, I'll be spending some time over at the brand-spankin' new 5-Series DIY Forum (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=46) (Thanks Jon!).
For folks attempting to perform some of their own mods and basic repairs, I hope that forum will be an excellent info source.
I maintain two sites, BMWdiy.info (http://www.bmwdiy.info) and e30.BMWdiy.info (http://e30.bmwdiy.info), and highly recommend BMWTips.com (http://www.bmwtips.com) as the definitive BMW E39 DIY site.
BTW - My name is actually "Viet", with the "SB" portion a reminder of the 14 years I lived in beautiful Santa Barbara.
Happy motoring!
