I have a question about the current 5 series. I was looking at a 525 with my brother and his wife noted that there was an immense bump in the middle of the back seat. That is, if you have three people sitting in the back, the middle person seems to be considerably further forward as compared to the other two.
Is this normal? Does it subside with time?

Bump? Where? On the seat or on the back?
There is an armrest on the seat back that may have not been fully recessed.
However, the back seat is more or less made for only two people although 3 could, theoretically, fit back there. The middle guy probably wouldn't want to be there for umpteen hours, however.

Agree w/ Agent99. There is a bump molded into the middle which stows the armrest, but I think it's mainly there to make the rear passengers comfortable in a 4-passenger configuration. The 5th passenger would get the semi-uncomfortable "hump". :(

The fold down rear seat option mostly eliminates this hump. the seat back is flatter, but i still wouldn't want to have 3 riding in the back for any length of time...
