I just lost a tire on my '03 330i thanks to an impailed screw. The tire is factory equipped Goodyear Eagle RSA 205-50-17 93V. Tires have 28K miles on them and have been deemed to be "a little more than half worn".

Question: Should I simply buy the same tire to replace (fairly expensive)? Or for a little more money, I could replace all 4 tires with Yokohama YK520, which have come highly recommended. I live in Chicago so all-season handling is important, but also don't want to sacrifice the thrill of driving either.

I would appreciate thoughts, comments, and suggestions.

You could replace it with a new tire and just have the shop balance the 4 corners for you. When the other 3 wear out, you can just replace all 4 at the same time. There's no point in letting the 3 tires sit there collecting dust. :)
