Hi All,
Now I have been searching the forums and as yet can't find a definitive answer to this and my dealer seems puzzled or purposely unhelpful.
I bought my wife a 2006 318i ES E90, yes I know in the UK we are forced by Red Ken, the Mayor of London, to be punished for our enviromental sins and drive small engined cars. Don't worry I have a Cayenne Turbo to compensate...now back to the question.
Current wheels on the car are 16" 205/55/16 all around. I bought a set of 18" 225/40/18 front, and 255/35/18 rear (8 and 8 1/2 I guess). They came from a 2007 335i E92. Next to the car they do look slightly taller than the 16" ones, but I am wondering if that's because they aren't sat on the car. I checked the diameter calcs and they are no more than 2-5mm diff. The BMW site also says a similar model, a 318i SE is avaliable with 18" wheels as an optional extra.
However, the local BMW dealer said he thought they wouldn't fit, but could try, and thought/asked if they came from an M3. A local tyre fitter, Kwik fit (umm not too great) said they weren't sure, but that doesn't surprise me. However from looking on ebay, forums and other online wheel dealers it completely suggests these are fine.
Thus I am confused. Any help from anybody to clarify this?
Much appreciated.
Thanks.
