Gary, I need a set of 265/35 18" tires for my '03 540. I have Potenza S-03s on the front. One of my S-03s on the rear is shot. I've been pleased with them but they are discontinued, right?
What do you recommend that will work well, and look good, with the S-03s on the front?

Remember me? I bought the 4 Blizzaks in November? Return customer here!

Didn't see your post before, sorry.
So you're replacing both rear 265/35R18 tires and keeping the S03's up front, right?
Although there is no ideal match, the Goodyear GSD3 wouldn't be *too* terribly far off.

What about the Potenza RE050?

Gary, Here is my tire wish list:
1. Doesn't pull into ruts!
2. Crisp steering response
3. Dry traction
4. Wet traction / hydroplaning resistance
5. Tire cost versus tread wear ratio is good.
6. Ride comfort (this includes harshness on bumps as well as vibrations)
7. Not noisy (usually not an issue due to my loud exhaust!)

The RE050 in this size is the RE050A (asymmetric tread pattern) so it isn't a great match cosmetically, but it would suffice for comparable dry and wet grip with minimum pulling and a bit lower noise than the GSD3.
